Kenneth E. Harrell Gymnasium

Beginning April 1, 2008, the Bethesda Ruritan Club will once again be managing the gymnasium at
2003 S. Miami Blvd in Durham, North Carolina. The gym will be available for individuals and
organizations that need a facility of this size for their indoor sporting events such as
basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, or other sporting events approved by the Bethesda Ruritan Club.
In addition, organizations that need this large of a space for banquets, meetings, concerts,
and conventions, will find that we are conveniently located between I40 & HWY70, just on the
border of RTP. We plan to continue having the gym available for the basketball programs
in the Bethesda Community and working with the leagues that now use the gymnasium. We hope
that under the New Management of the Bethesda Ruritan Club, the gym will once again become
a place of fun, fellowship, and exercise in the Bethesda Community.
We hope to be making some much needed upgrades to the building in the very near future.
It is our vision to establish organized sports in the gym for young and old alike in the Bethesda Community.

Gym Rental Calendar

The strong commitment by the Bethesda Ruritan Club to make improvements to the gym
was reinforced at the clubs February meeting by the membership voting unanimously
to direct all fundraising profit in 2008 to ensure that the Bethesda Ruritan
Community Center is re-established as an anchor in the community.
